Born in the UK, educated in the USA (home is Florida). Entered the industry in 1990. Operated clubs in Europe, North America, Middle East and North Africa and now South East Asia.
Successfully launched the modern fitness industry in Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Egypt. Previous involvement with the biggest brands in the fitness business, including: Gold Gy, World Gym, Fitness First.
Please share with us why it was named Elite?
The “Elite” name was created to reflect our exectionally high standards. We pride ourselves on creating the very best health and fitness facilities, with the most current, comprehensive range of equipment in clubs that are staffed by caring, qualified industry professionals.
Since when have you been in Vietnam?
I have been in Viet Nam since September 2015.
In how many countries Elite has presented?
Elite is currently in Vietnam only. We do however have regional aspirations in our longer term plans. During the remainder of this year we will be expanding into 2 additional cities in Viet Nam.
What is the Elite’s philosophy?

Is Vietnam considered such a fertile market for entrepreneurship, in your point of view?
Vietnam currently presents tremendous opportunities in SEA. The economy is proving to be quite robust and the increased exposure to globalization is reflected in the range of international brands that are starting to appear and grow across the country. By the very nature of business and opportunities in emerging markets, entrepreneurship is also on the increase.
What is your segmentation? Does Elite go in the right track as expected?
Elite’s business segmentation is health, fitness and wellness. Our business is developing as predicted with rapid,
nationwide expansion plans in place for the next few years.
Based on your observation, what is the perception towards beauty in Vietnam?
In my short time in Vietnam, it is very obvious that there is a great deal of importance placed on beauty
and presentation. Naturally there is seamless synergy with beauty and the health and fitness industry…we just
need to ensure that the perceptions of what constitutes health and beauty is not distorted by unrealistic images!
If possible, please name your majors competitors in Vietnam, a few?
We like to assert that we are considerably different to any other operator in our business segment. Our standards and levels of professional and duty of care to our members, sets us apart from ‘competitors’.
